Kahani Keema-Mattar Ki (Stir-fried minced chicken with green peas, tomatoes and bell peppers)

We are enjoying an epic time in Singapore now. Almost every day it rains here. (Sorry guys back home.I know it's unfair to mention rains when it's scorching hot in India) As being a total foodie, somehow my gastronomical brain dreams about recipes to cook for dinner. Spicy recipes, mostly non-veg (My hubby hates veg.) I often get tired of cooking the same things and to be honest I really don't see the point of making one thing the same way time immemorial. It's food and it's not supposed to be boring. So I keep on making variations so that I can enjoy a variety in the palate. Now Keema Mattar or stir-fried minced chicken with green peas, tomatoes and bell peppers is a very easy dish. It hardly takes time to prepare and goes down well with anyone who loves non-veg or chicken. But other than sharing the recipe I will also write down a couple of variations to the the dish which you guys can go ahead with if you want. So here it is " Keema Mattar"

Tonite'z Dinner : Magic of packet soups

So in my last post I was speaking to you guys about easy-peasy food that could be made on days when you don't feel your pro-active selves. So I thought why not go lazy, like really crazy lazy and try to make an original meal combining the best of packet meals. Now if you're lazy like me, then Soups is a must on your dinner/lunch/ heck even breakfast list. To be honest I love soups. There's about a soup that somehow makes me feel loved. It doesn't matter whether the soup is something like a Chicken Soup with beaten egg and string noodles or a spicy, refreshing Gazpacho and some toasted bread with an avocado spread. My husband often laments that I am such a Soup and Sandwiches person that if let to myself, I could survive decades on just that. tsshhkkk... ( But he loves the soups I make..ha ha) So today I'm sharing a special soup recipe with you guys with hardly requires anything to make and it's an amalgamation of different packaged meals combined and coo

Dhaniya Chicken ( Chicken cooked in a spicy, coriander curry)

On one of those days when it rains like hell and you feel too lazy to move out to the common food court, an easy spicy chicken broth provides solace to your mind and cuddles your hunger pangs. But then because you lllooovveee yourself and you wouldn't want just any chicken broth, there's this awesome chicken broth you can make. It's heartwarming soul food you need on days when the rains seem to dampen your spirits as well as the floor in your house. Today being one of those days when it rained like hell in Singapore and I was feeling too lethargic to cook anything other than a simple one pot dish, the Coriander Chicken Curry came to my rescue. It's an incredibly easy recipe and only a couple of ingredients are required to cook this, with least effort I might add. So here it is friends. Dhaniya Chicken served with steamed rice/paratha.       Ingredients :  1/2 Kg Chicken  1 cup Curd  2 cups chopped Coriander  5 or more Green Chilies  Ginger-Garlic

The Kofta Curry Saga

For some days now I had been craving for meatballs…why you may ask? Well being a very selective eater or rather a ‘ nothing eater’ as my husband calls it, it becomes very difficult to choose and eat which has variety. Being raised in a Brahmin family my choices of proteins were always limited. It was either egg / chicken / fish /mutton. Now you may think it’s a very decent choice list but when you are someone like me who hates eating and then irrespective of the list you are still stuck with hardly any options. For I cannot eat or rather choose not to eat mutton. Call me ‘ nyaka ’ but the truth is ever since I had once accompanied my father to the slaughterhouse to see how we get mutton I lost all appetite for it. I could never digest eggs as eggs always caused my stomach massive problems of the wrong kind. Fish I could never love as the smell irked me. So the only choice was Chicken. Though my choices were limited regarding non-vegetarian food, it didn’t actually bother
